i'm in a weird state of mind today. (probably due to the latest med changes.) my thoughts are bouncing everywhere so don't mind the stream of consciousness style. mostly focusing on where i am today and how i never thought i'd be here. i was "bright" when i was young. supposed to do something with my life. even epilepsy at 17 didn't really affect my life that much. but i never ended up with a focus, a career goal. until the web. but that was later, i didn't start web work til i was 27. now i feel i'm back to those days, with no focus. but it's not completely to do with having no goal it's also having physical and mental issues that preclude even choosing some goals. i feel disabled. i am disabled. hopefully, being disabled will go away. so all i can do is wait. when we hit middle age we were supposed to have money, a house, kids. well we've got the house. but no kids. and no money. how is it that we're living paycheck to paycheck. racking up credit debt *again*. weren't we supposed to grow out of this? why are there no obvious solutions? me working isn't currently an option. disability is a nightmare to get onto. cutting back has been done. maybe i'll become a functioning human being again. and so i wait. this isn't how life is supposed to be. can i trade in my brain for a new one? sigh. 10:30 am

so to cheer myself up, on the way home we stopped at fry's at bought Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. it is absolutely fabulous. which reminds me, i have something much better to be doing than sitting at the computer. 10:14 am

there seems to be a direct correlation between me not feeling good and me not posting much. not that i'm necessarily feeling exceptionally bad, more a not feeling good apathy. and it's not even like i'm not on the web and reading stuff, it's just that stuff never makes it on here. sigh. when we went in to the doctor's on tuesday i just really felt disgusted with having to go through the litany of side-effects again. some sort of disgust at self-absorbed whinging. "hi, i'm brigitte, i feel like crap for all these reasons... how are you?" ugh. just shoot me. 10:06 am

i installed Mobydock today and am totally loving the fact that my desktop is clean but all my useful icons are shrunk down and collected on one bar. the mouseover zoom feature is just too much fun. 06:11 pm
