we all knew weblogs were no longer cool, but with the wall street journal weblog, it's definitive. 02:36 pm

i've been watching too many diy and hgtv shows. i've decided to try a hand at indoor bonsai. Beginning Bonsai is a nice intro. i'm also planning on painting kirsty's bedroom and bath. the generic "builders beige" is starting to irritate me. 11:51 am

Murad. someone on one of my mailing lists recommended the murad products for acne control. if i ever decide to change from my peter thomas roth glycolic acid skin care, i want to be able to find this again. 02:33 pm

despite kirsty being here, i've managed to get through several books in the last couple of weeks. once upon a winter's night by dennis mckiernan, a traitor to memory by elizabeth george, american gods by neil gaiman, and sex and the city by candace bushnell. all of which were excellent, except for sex and the city. i'd really like those couple of hours back. 01:42 pm

i don't know what's with my cat. she comes into the computer room and starts crying and crying. squalling is probably a better word for it. i pet her, and she keeps crying, i let her outside and 2 minutes later she wants in and starts crying again. i make sure she's got plenty of food. squall, squall, squall. i wish there was some way to gag her. 01:26 pm

no degree, no job. i know steve gilliard is right when he says that when you have two equally qualified candidates, the one who has a degree will get hired. on paper anyway, the one with the degree has that extra bonus skill. what frustrates me is hearing people justify hiring less qualified people who have degrees by talking about all the valuable "skills" learned in college. they globally assume that everyone who has a degree has "been taught how to learn something". there are brilliant people without degrees who know how to learn something, and there are complete idiots with a college degree who couldn't pick up something new if their lives depended on it. excuse me while i go back to contemplating finishing my ba. thanks sanj. 01:06 pm

after much digging, i finally found a list of d2x monster levels. while not important to most of you, it is important when you're trying to figure out your exp penalty for killing monsters that are much higher level that you. 05:41 pm

yes, i have been playing d2x constantly since i got it last week. but, i'm proud of myself. i took monday and tuesday off to clean the house and go grocery shopping.

and today i have the pleasure of driving to stanford medical to have my yearly visit with my neurologist. i hate it when they refuse to authorize any more refills on your prescription until you go in and see the doctor. a phone interview would be much more convenient. but, that's what i get for wanting to go to a real epilepsy doctor and a real epilepsy clinic. i have to say, it's better than the kaiser doctor who had to run out and consult his pdr every time i asked him a question about the medication he prescribed. 10:48 am

obscene interiors, interior design critique of porn photos (with the bad bits removed). my particular favorite. 10:41 am

i think today is gross out day. McDonald's Sued for Maggot-Infested Cheeseburger. i actually find it hard to believe that maggots could be crawling around after being fried on the grill. 02:53 pm

Giant Dildos. i can't really comprehend anyone needing a dildo this large. in fact, i think the super peter is almost as long as my torso. 02:26 pm

portal got mentioned in the irish independent: joe blogg's diary. thanks go out to tom for scanning it in and letting me know about it. 09:50 am
